  • Vision Mission Statement

    <<Japan Mission Vision for 10 years>>

    • As Jesus’ Mission was to bring hope to the poor and since the OMI charism is to serve the most abandoned, we in Japan also want to walk in that direction. We seek out those who cry out for salvation in Japan, wherever they are. We conceive this vision to be done in community, in communion with God, with our brother Oblates, Church and Society.
    • We shall be ministering to: The migrants, The youth, Social problems and Advocacy.

  • Quote of the Day

    (St. Eugene de Mazenod, Founder)

    • “For His glory and the welfare of the souls He has entrusted to us”
    • Young Prisoners – Mazenod’s Diary, Feb.9, 1840

I went to administer the sacrament of confirmation to a young person who was dying in the house for juvenile prisoners. There are already 45 children in this house between the ages of 10 and 18. It is painful to see this early degradation; we expect much from the painstaking care that Igive these poor youth through Fr. Fissiaux and Fr. Margaillan, his assistant. Already some of these children are showing the good effects of the religious instruction they receive.

  • Reflection of the day

<Three Goals of Oblate Ministry with Young People>

    • In becoming Human we seek to foster the psychological, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth of each young person; helping them to recognize their dignity and the dignity of others.
    • In becoming Christians we seek to draw young people to responsible participation in the life, mission, and work of the Catholic faith community.
    • In becoming Saints we seek to empower young people to live as disciples of Jesus Christ in the Oblate charism, fully human and fully alive, in our world today.

    Quotes of the Week

    1. “The human body shares in the dignity of ‘the image of God’: it is a human body precisely because it is animated by a spiritual soul, and it is the whole human person that is intended to become, in the body of Christ, a temple of the Spirit: Man, though
made of body and soul, is a unity.”  (CCC#364)
    2. “Gender ideology is a false anthropology, an erroneous set of beliefs about what it means to be a human person.”

  • Prayer to Mary to free us from this terrible pandemic

We shall always look on her as our mother. In the joys of our missionary life, we feel close to her who is the Other of Mercy. (OMI Rule of Life, 10)

St. Eugne sought Mary’s intercession during every cholera epidemic during his time. Following his example, as a Mazenodian Family we turn to Mary in this time of need united in prayer with Pope Francis all around the world:

We fly to your protection, O Holy Mother of God

In the present tragic situation, when the whole world is prey to suffering and anxiety, we fly to you, Mother of God and our Mother, and seek refuge under your protection.

Virgin Mary, turn your merciful eyes towards us amid this coronavirus pandemic. Comfort those who are distraught and mourn their loved ones who have died, and at times are buried in a way that grieves them deeply. Be close to those who are concerned for their loved ones who are sick and who, in order to prevent the spread of the disease, cannot be close to them. Fill with hope those who are troubled by the uncertainty of the future and the consequences for the economy and employment.

Mother of God and our Mother, pray for us to God, the Father of mercies, that this great suffering may end and that hope and peace may dawn anew. Plead with your divine Son, as you did at Cana, so that the families of the sick and victims be comforted, and their hearts be opened to confidence and trust.

Protect those doctors, nurses, health workers and volunteers who are on the frontline os this emergency, and are risking their lives to save others. Support their heroic effort and grant them strength, generosity, and continued health.

May, Consolation of the afflicted, embrace all your children in distress and pray that God will stretch out his all powerful hand and free us from this terrible pandemic, so that life can serenely resume its normal course.

To you, who shine on our journey as a sign of salvation and ope, do we entrust ourselves, O Clement, O Loving, O Sweet Virgin Mary. Amen
